VCI to release “Dark Night of the Scarecrow”

VCI Entertainment will release the made for TV movie “Dark Night of the Scarecrow” on DVD on September 28th 2010.  This is one of the iconic horror movies to come from the eighties.  Its timeless screenplay is full of suspense and frights without having to rely on gore and violence to scare the audience.  Truly one of the best television horror movies ever made.

Plot Outline:

When young Marylee Williams (Tonya Crowe) is found viciously mauled, all hell breaks loose in her small rural town. Officious postmaster Otis P. Hazelrigg (Charles Durning) leads a gang of bigots in pursuit of the suspect: her mentally challenged friend Bubba Ritter (Larry Drake). Finding him hiding inside a scarecrow, they exact brutal mob “justice”…only to discover a tragic mistake! Now a strange apparition stalks the land seeking each of them out, as the legend of the Scarecrow begins.

An Interview with Anthony Brownrigg by Amira Ansari

Over the July 4th weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Anthony Brownrigg. Brownrigg, a local film director here in Dallas, kindly answered a few questions for me, allowing me to get to know him better and giving me insight into his past film projects. He also gave me some background information about his upcoming film entitled Archaic Redemption, due to release next year. His high energy, wonderful sense of humor, and very obvious passion for the film business made writing the column below exciting and enjoyable!
